I first met Ruby at the Internationalist Book store in Chapel Hill. I was volunteering with an organization called North Carolina Independent Media Center (aka Indymedia) whose little office and meeting place was at the the book store. I first remember exchanging email addresses with Ruby when Brandon Jourdan, or someone, suggested we work together on improving the NC Indymedia website.
Well I *think* we may have exchanged an email but we never worked on any website stuff. The next thing I remember Ruby was saying hello to me at the bar Hell in Chapel Hill. I was there with Brandon Jourdan, again, after attending the Hi Mom! film festival across the street from the bar. As we were talking she asked me out.
