Hey y’all. Here’s a quick update on what Brian and I are up to via the local papers.

Brian is almost done with his Americorps*VISTA service! He has been job-hunting for about a month and has had a couple of promising interviews at UNC. Here is an article about a cool community event he is organizing tonight.

I won an award from Public Allies, an organization I’ve been involved with since 1994. The paper took the occasion to write a profile of me. They wrote it a month ago, but they just published it this week. You can read my response to it here.

Of course their profile is already out of date because in the past month I have taken on a full-time job and am no longer consulting.

We’ll be taking off tomorrow for a long weekend with the Rakoffs in in Ohio. Hope you’re all well. Be glad you’re not in Lake New Orleans! More wedding news will be forthcoming when things settle down.
